Moody’s Foundation

Moody's Corporation, often referred to as Moody's, is an American business and financial services company. Established in 2002, Moody’s Foundation directs Moody’s corporate philanthropy to organizations aligned with their three focus areas that contribute to stronger communities—and a brighter future—for people around the world.

Moody’s Foundation sponsors our Operation Healthy Air global research program. Exposure to poor air quality is one of the most pressing threats to human health globally. Improving access to clean air depends on adopting measures that both reduce air pollution and help individuals to avoid polluted air. Objectives of the project are to educate, collect data, and promote action to improve air quality in Paris, Brussels, London, and Madrid. In order to achieve these objectives, it is critical to improve our ability to predict local air quality, especially in communities at highest risk, and to take action to reduce emissions and avoid exposure.

Earthwatch Partner: Moody's Foundation

In 2021, in collaboration with several universities in the U.S. and Europe, Moody’s Foundation joined forces with Earthwatch to monitor air pollution across four European cities. The initiative filled several gaps in air quality data, enabling local residents, scientists, and policy makers to better understand their exposure to air pollution and to take action to expand access to healthy air.

YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Earthwatch depends on donations—above and beyond what we raise from volunteers who participate on our expeditions—in order to deliver our global conservation mission. In fact, volunteer contributions provide only half of the total resources Earthwatch needs to sustain over 40 field research expeditions, a wide variety of educational programs, corporate sustainability trainings, and more each year.
