Capturing Our Coast volunteer shortlisted for volunteer award

Since writing this blog, Hugh has been shortlisted in the Adult Newcomer category of the 2017 UK Awards for Biological Recording and Information Sharing.

In 2013, Hugh left his job as a doctor to pursue a different career path, and reaping the benefits of spending time outdoors.

Spring Power & Gas Partners with Earthwatch Institute to Encourage Environmental Stewardship for Female Students

Spring Power & Gas, a retail energy provider of electricity and gas supply services for Maryland and New Jersey, is partnering with Earthwatch Institute, a global environmental nonprofit organization, to sponsor a student for the “Climate Change: Sea to Trees at Acadia National Park” expedition. The winner of the fellowship was Sophia Ludtke, a freshman at Newark Academy in Livingston, NJ.

Earthwatch Partners with Malibu Rum!

Starting today, Earthwatch’s Tracking Sea Turtles in the Bahamas expedition is being highlighted as part of Malibu’s #BecauseSummer advertising campaign, featuring a video created by Vice Media. The video features Earthwatch Lead Scientist Annabelle Brooks and six millennial Instagram celebrities—including professional surfer Alana Blanchard—who are passionate about conservation and will help spread the word amongst their millions of social media followers.
