About the Sylva Foundation
The Sylva Foundation is a new organisation (charitable status pending) aiming to advance the development of sustainable forestry in England.
Our work is undertaken through three main initiatives.
1. OxonWood is our practical initiative, supporting the sustainable development of Oxfordshire's woodlands and the county's woodland economy.
2. Our Tree Research & Education initiative engages with all people to raise the profile of trees and forestry, and supports applied tree research.
3. We undertake independent strategic research and influence national policy through our think-tank initiative Forestry Horizons.
The main initiatives are to cover five principle activities: delivering productive woodlands, engaging with communities, supporting applied research, undertaking strategic research, and advocacy.
