Let nature provide your classroom. In the United Kingdom, Teach Earth combines “hands-on” scientific research and innovative tailored learning sessions for teachers.
Climate Change in Wytham Woods: August 16-21 2014
The program commences with an intensive six-day residential experience where you will work closely with environmental scientists and learning professionals at the Earthwatch Climate Change in Wytham Woods project in Oxfordshire.
You will remain supported and involved by spending the next six months working through personal action plans (which will be developed during the residential experience), laying the foundations and implementing pre-determined activities and changes.
This program will provide an opportunity to be immersed in forestry and climate science research and to understand the ecosystem services offered by forests and how they are impacted by human activity. You will emerge with new knowledge, inspiration and plans for how you will implement novel ways to engage your students in sustainability.
The program will allow for development of a network of peers and professionals for support in the implementation of your personal action plan.
